ไม้ยืนต้นขนาดเล็ก แตกกิ่งก้านมาก สูง ๕ – ๑๐ ม. ใบประกอบ แบบขนนก มีขนนุ่มปกคลุม ออกดอกเป็นช่อตามลำต้นและกิ่งก้าน สีม่วงแดง กลีบดอก ๕ กลีบ มีกลิ่นหอม ผลสดฉํ่านํ้า รูปไข่ ขนาดกว้าง ๑.๕ – ๒ ซม. ยาว ๔ – ๘ ซม. สีเขียว ผลสุกสีเหลือง ออกดอกช่วงเดือน มีนาคม – พฤษภาคม ขยายพันธุ์โดยการเพาะเมล็ด
Averrhoa bilimbi is a small tree, many branched, 5 – 10 m tall. Leaves odd-pinnately compound, covered with soft hairs. Inflorescences in clusters along stems and branches. Flowers purlish-red with 5 petals, light fragrant. Fruits are fleshy ovoid, 4 – 8 by 1.5 – 2 cm, green and turning yellow when ripe. Flowering in
